ACTRESS Denise Van Outen visited a Wood Green shopping centre on Friday to present a cheque to its chosen charity.
Lovable cockney Van Outen, who won the nation's heart following her stint as a presenter on Channel 4 show Big Breakfast, visited the Mall, in Wood Green, to help launch the winter fashion season.
The star, who is the gace of the Mall, also presented a cheque of £500 to dance troupe Streetz Ahead which is the centre's chosen charity this year.
The organisation was set up in 1995 by Elizabeth Lahav to bring professtional but low-cost dance lessons to young people who would not otherwise have access to art provision.
Founder Ms Lahav said: "We are so happy to receive this cheque. It will go towards subsidising dance lessons for at least 20 children who may not be able to pay the full amount.
"I always say there is something magical about dancing. Getting on stage and performing makes you feel special and gives you a confidence you can take with you in other aspects of your life."
Streetz Ahead offers three-month courses which culminates in filming a pop video and a professional perfomance at a theatre.
The young dancers also get a certificate and a medal for their hard work.
