London bomber arrested over Wood Green soldier's death


A WOMAN convicted of bombing the Old Bailey in an IRA attack has been arrested in connection with the murder of Wood Green soldier Patrick Azimkar.

Marian Price, 55, was being held for questioning in West Belfast, Northern Ireland, over the killing of Sapper Azimkar, 21, and fellow soldier Mark Quinsey, 23, of Birmingham, in March this year.

Price was one of eight sentenced to life for planting a car bomb outside the Old Bailey in 1973 which killed one person and injured 200.

The two young soldiers, awaiting deployment to Afghanistan, were gunned down outside the Massereene barracks in County Antrim as they collected a pizza.

They were the first soldiers to be murdered in Northern Ireland in 12 years.

The Real IRA claimed responsibility for the attack.

A total of 14 people have now been arrested over the killings including well-known dissident Republican Colin Duffy, from Lurgan.
