A HARINGEY resident will celebrate her 100th birthday with friends and a musical performance.
Lucy Kirby, of Hildridge Court, Lancaster Road, will officially reach the milestone tomorrow but will celebrate with friends at Woodside Day Centre, in White Hart Lane, today.
The Connaught Opera will entertain guests and Mrs Kirby is expected to receive a bouquet of flowers from the Haringey mayor.
Mrs Kirby was born on February 9, 1910, and is the head of a family of five generations.
She has two sons, as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Until her retirement, Mrs Kirby worked as a manager in a residential care home in Richmond, south London, where she enjoyed working with the elderly.
Her friends at the day centre have described her as a caring person who plays a supportive role to the others in the group.
