Insurance plan for dogs

DOG owners across London could be forced to buy insurance for their pets as the Government attempts to tackle the growing number of dangerous breeds.

An amendment to the 1991 Dangerous Dogs Act could also give powers to the police and councils to force owners to muzzle or neuter their pets.

The legislation currently bans four breeds of dog - the pit bull terrier, the Japanese tosa, the dogo Argentino and the fila Brasileiro - from public places.

These animals could also be banned from private homes and owners would be forced to provide third party insurance in case they attack another dog or person, according to plans suggested in a Government consultation.

Another bloody stupid "initiative" from a clapped-out Labour "government" that can do nothing but pass endless laws, bans while wagging their puritanical fingers at us.

Never forget that it is precisely the socialist benefit culture that has created this state supported, unemployable, yobbish underclass.

This will do nothing to curb the lowlives who have and train these dogs. They couldn't care less about any rules, regulations or "Tough New Laws".

And you can be absolutely certain tha tthe peole prosecuted for being "uninsured" will be the meek, the compliant and the easily targetted middle-classes.

Another load of Labour codswallop in an andless stream of the stuff. Time to vote them OUT and keep them OUT for a very long time.

On second thoughts perhaps we should neuter Labour MPs and require them to take out insurance against their savage mauling of the economy and our pension funds. Maybe they should also be chipped so we can track them online to see how much time they actually spend in the House of Commons as opposed to gallivating around on exes.

Perhaps Cllr Zeid would care to say this to either the poor pensioner in Queensbury last year, who saw her Jack Russell mauled in front of her; as reported on this very website last November.

Or, the blind pensioner in Cricklewood who had her guide dog nearly go the same way earlier this year.

Yes, the owner is responsible for their behaviour. However, these dogs are dangerous and a control like this would be worth having. I'm sure he wouldn't be saying the same thing if such an unfortunate incident happened to him.

It is about time something was done to curb the yob culture and, those that cannot control their dogs. If a dog is unpredictable in public then it should either be kept on a lead or muzzled. I would go further with the legislation and that is to impose a 3 year prison term with a £10,000 fine. That would surely sort out the yob culture, drug dealers and, those without a brain cell to their names.

I should point out that my dog has been neutered and micro-chipped, and the only person he is likely to bite is the.... VET.

An elderly gentleman was bitten without cause on Acton High St a few years ago by a bull terrier, severing the Radial Artery, and the owner and dog ran off towards an infamous estate. The police are still looking for dog and owner.

In the hands of the wrong people these status-symbol dogs are dangerous and should be removed. (one bite and your out.)
