A CONVICTED killer who scaled a five-metre wall to escape from a mental hospital is still on the loose.
Fida Mohammed Utmanzi, 20, has now been on the run for three days after absconding from North London Clinic, in Church Street, Edmonton, at around 7.30pm on Monday.
He was detained indefinitely under the mental health act after being convicted of the manslaughter of Rasool Khan at the Old Bailey on January 8.
Mr Khan's throat was slit at an address in West Green Road, Haringey, on March 3, 2009.
The hospital believes Utmanzi escaped by climbing the 5.2m fence surrounding the hospital grounds.
Peter Handy, North London Clinic regional executive director, said: “Security and the safety of our patients and the community is at the forefront of our concerns and we are working extremely closely with the local authorities to ensure the patient is returned to the facility as quickly as possible."
Utmanzi was born in Afghanistan and was last seen wearing black Adidas tracksuit bottoms with white stripes on the sides. He was also wearing a navy blue hooded top and grey trainers.
He is 6ft 1in tall and thin with short black hair. He is also known to have cigarette burns on his arms.
Utmanzi has previous connections to the Tottenham, Fulham and Putney areas of London, and has spent time in Newcastle.
Police are advising the public not to approach Utmanzi, but to call them immediately on 999.
Anyone who may have other information about his whereabouts is asked to call detectives on 07717 483 332.
