A PLANNING application to transform Hornsey Town Hall into a cultural hub has been submitted.
The designs outline a vision to restore the Grade II* listed building in Crouch End, with proposals including a theatre space, public halls, bars, an improved courtyard and new housing.
Haringey Council Leader Claire Kober said: "Hornsey Town Hall is a much-loved local landmark and has the potential to be at the heart of plans to improve Crouch End and broaden Haringey's cultural landscape.
"We will be closely scrutinising the plans to make sure they are able to deliver real change for the better, not just for Crouch End, but for the whole of Haringey.
"We encourage everyone to take a close look at the plans and to have their say on proposals.
"All comments will be carefully considered by the planning committee when it makes a decision on the application."
If the application is accepted as valid by the planning department, a Development Management Forum will be held at the Town Hall, Crouch End Broadway, on Thursday, March 25.
Following the Development Management Forum, an exhibition of the plans will be on display at Hornsey Library, Haringey Park, N8.
The planning application will be available to view at www.haringey.gov.uk/planning and at Haringey Council's planning office at 639 High Road, Tottenham.
Comments can be submitted online via www.haringey.gov.uk/planning or in writing to: Hornsey Town Hall application, Haringey Council, 639 High Road, London N17 8BD. Telephone: 020 8489 5300.
The decision on the planning application will be made by the council's planning committee ata a future date.
