A knife and a canister of CS gas were removed from the streets of Southgate during a police operation to stamp out unruly behaviour which is prone to flare up at the start of the school year.
Up to ten young people were arrested for possession of drugs, weapons and theft, while six formal warnings were issued to young people for possession of drugs during the three-week Operation Delabole.
Officers with passive drugs dogs were stationed outside Southgate Tube station, vehicle check points were set up and a mobile police kiosk was stationed in Southgate Circus.
The initiative has been welcomed by residents who have seen a sharp rise in anti-social behaviour and crime when young people return to schools and colleges in the autumn.
PC Andy Chowns, Southgate's community officer, said: "During this period, there's a lot of new in-takes to the area and this operation helps the local community and those passing through it, by providing reassurance and ensuring that the area is a safe environment for all.
"I am grateful to Arriva bus company, Transport for London, Enfield Council and Southgate College for their assistance in this initiative."
A spokesman for Southgate College added: "We support the initiative and work very closely with police throughout the year. Along with other educational institutions in the area, we wish to work with the local community."
