A WOULD-BE rapist possibly as young as 13 years old is being hunted by Haringey police.
Police have now released a computer generated image of the suspect, described as aged between 13 and 16 years old, in a bid to track him down.
He is accused of forcing himself onto a woman in Tavistock Road on April 10, and then chasing her down Tiverton Road and Ovenbury Road when she tried to escape.
The 39-year-old woman hid in a nearby warehouse, until her attacker gave up trying to find her.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Suzie Chantry, of the Met's specialist rape unit, said: "Had the victim not had the presence of mind to run from the suspect and call for help, we fear this could have been a far more serious incident.
"As it is, the victim was left traumatised. The e-fit has been released in the hope it will help us find the person responsible. I would appeal to anyone with information to contact us as soon as possible."
The victim had spent the day watching the Grand National at a pub in Hermitage Road.
She left the venue at about 5.10pm to place a bet in a nearby betting shop when she was sexually assaulted by the suspect.
He is described as black, 5ft 4in and was wearing a black tracksuit.
Anyone with information about the incident can call police on 020 8345 4512 or, to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
