A SEXUAL predator from Tottenham who violently raped a prostitute and a vulnerable woman with a mental health condition has been put behind bars.
Gheorghe Avadani, 31, of West Green Road, trapped the sex worker at an address in Selsdon Road, east London, where he raped her repeatedly in an overnight ordeal, Inner London Crown Court heard.
He received a jail term of 22 years yesterday after being found guilty of four counts of rape, one count of false imprisonment, two counts of assault by penetration and one count of causing actual bodily harm.
The twisted individual had propositioned his victim after spotting her near Upton Park Tube station in September 2008 and agreeing a price for her services.
But the minute he got the 35-year-old alone, he locked her in the flat before grabbing her by the throat and forcing her to perform a number of sex acts against her will.
After he finished with her, he disappeared and police were unable to track him when the brave victim reported the attack to police.
But Avadani struck again in 2009, and this time targeted a vulnerable Tottenham woman with mental health condition.
He forced his way into the 25-year-old's home, and despite her protests for him to leave he followed her into her living room, forced her to the ground and raped her.
In his hurry to flee the scene of the crime, the rapist left his wallet providing a vital clue to police investigating the attack.
He was traced to Palmers Green where police arrested him before charging him with the Tottenham attack, and later linked to the east London rape.
Detective Constable Karen Bramley, who led the investigation, said: "Avadani preyed on two vulnerable women, subjecting each victim to a calculating and violent attack.
"My praise goes out to his victims, who have shown determination and bravery in assisting this investigation and giving evidence in court. I hope today's sentence can be of some comfort to them, knowing that a dangerous individual is today behind bars and off our streets."
