TWO professional pickpockets from Tottenham who stole from pensioners on buses across north London have been jailed.
Bulgarians Ivanka Koleva, 42, and Elissaveta Vassileva, 36, admitted a series of thefts between October last year and March 2011, mainly targeting elderly people on public transport.
In one instance, the victim had just withdrawn a large sum of money from the bank when pickpocketed by Koleva and Vassileva.
Koleva, of Allison Road, was jailed for two years and Vassileva, of Wightman Road, was jailed for 15 months at Southwark Crown Court on Thursday, June 30.
Both will be subject to an Asbo on release from prison, preventing them from stealing again, and they will be considered for deportation.
