The man killed behind Turnpike Lane Tube station this afternoon may have been shot with a machine gun, according to a witness.
Abbas Aamer, who owns the cafe at the front of the station in Langham Parade, said he heard up to ten shots from a “big gun” that sounded like a machine gun.
He said a crowd of people gathered within minutes to see the male victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
He said: “The people are so crazy here, I just don’t understand it. I’ve seen it all before so this is no surprise, although this is especially bad.
“All the birds flew away when it happened, then all the people started gathering around here to discuss what happened. Many are very concerned about it.”
Lindsay Roussel, a bus station supervisor for TfL, also heard the gun shots while on duty in Langham Parade.
He said he heard five gun shots and saw the victim, who he said was Turkish, lying on the floor.
According to Mr Roussel, the police, ambulance services and a helicopter were at the scene within ten minutes.
Police have confirmed the victim was 35-years-old and died from multiple gunshot wounds.
There have been no arrests at this stage, despite earlier reports.
