Children at a Muswell Hill school got a visit from a famous author as they started a read-a-thon to raise money for books.
Former Children’s Laureate Michael Rosen visited pupils at Muswell Hill Primary School on Monday to kick off the sponsored four-day event, which raised £3,500 last year to buy books for the school.
Mr Rosen, who spent time with the infant and junior classes reading his poems and signing books, said he was “very happy” to visiting.
He said: “I enjoy sharing with the children the joy of reading and writing books and will be encouraging them to read more, be adventurous, challenge themselves a little and perhaps read a few of my poems along the way.”
