Young people from two Haringey estates will have 32 sports sessions on their doorstep every week thanks to funding from the London Mayor.
Sky City in Wood Green and the Campsbourne estate in Hornsey will share £140,000 of funding between seven other London estates, after Mayor Boris Johnson approved the scheme on Thursday.
The project aims to have 9,000 young people across the city involved in sport by October 2013.
The activities, which vary depending on the estate, will take place in underused facilities already in the estates, including youth clubs, community centres, parks, open spaces and traditional sport space.
The sessions, run by London-based charity StreetGames, hope to increase sports participation among young people from deprived parts of London.
