Staff at an opticians in Wood Green will sell cakes on Saturday to help raise money for children who struggle with reading.
Specsavers in High Road has pledged to raise at least £250 for the Get London Reading campaign, which is run by London-based charity, Volunteer Reading Help (VRH).
Specsavers stores throughout London promised in January to work together to raise £25,000 for the charity by July, with each store organising events to reach their individual £250 target.
All 35 members of staff at the store will bake cakes for the fundraising event, and customers will be charged £1 per cake.
Staff will also wave buckets outside the store to encourage people walking past to donate to the good cause.
The store raised £347 from an in-store raffle on January 28 for children’s charity, Noah’s Ark.
