Man to appear in court over iPhone robbery in Muswell Hill
9:48am Friday 23rd March 2012 in News By Hermione Wright
A teenager will appear in court today charged with robbing an iPhone from a man in Muswell Hill.
Jason Harewood, 19, of Andover Road, Islington, is accused of snatching the phone from the man, who is in his 40s, while he was walking in Fortismere Avenue on March 15, at 10.50pm.
The self-employed man, who is due to appear at Wood Green Crown Court in Lordship Lane, is also charged in connection with possessing a knife and carrying cannabis.
He has been remanded in custody at a north London police station following his appearance at Haringey Magistrates Court in Bishops Road, Highgate, on March 17.
Police were able to recover the phone because the victim had downloaded the Find My Iphone app.
The free app, which Haringey Police are urging people to download, enables officers to track the phone more easily if it is stolen.
