A £1.2million cash pot to encourage“innovation” in the borough was officially launched by Haringey Council yesterday.

Bids for the money from the One Borough One Future fund are open to anyone with an interest in Haringey, as long as they have an innovative idea they think could bring positive change.

Executives including Geoff Mulgan, former director of policy at Downing Street, met with councillors at Haringey Civic Centre in Wood Green High Road yesterday to mark the occasion.

Cllr Goldberg said: “The One Borough One Future fund is one of the boldest ideas in local government in years. Haringey is the most unequal borough in the UK and we want to tackle that so that all our residents can prosper.”

All applicants must put in bids before July 13. To do so, call Haringey Council on 020 8489 2964.
