A police car was left without a roof after it collided with a van in Harringay Green Lanes on Saturday.

The accident, which happened at 3.20pm at the junction with Falkland Road, is believed to have left two police officers needing hospital treatment for their minor injuries.

At this stage, it is unclear why the car was left without a roof, although the fire brigade may have cut the vehicle to allow the passengers to escape.

The damaged police car, which was on the pavement of Green Lanes, remained at the scene until after 5.30pm.
