Housing association 'sorry' for problems with mice
A housing association has apologised to a mother forced out of her flat by a mouse infestation.
Jannine Brown, 29, of Tarleton Court, Wood Green, has had mice in her flat for a number of years and said she felt her housing association, Metropolitan, was ignoring the problem.
A spokesman for Metropolitan said: “We are sorry Ms Brown is experiencing problems with mice at her property.
“We have a contract in place for the treatment of pests on the estate and visits are carried out every month to all properties where we can gain access. Ms Brown has recently reported that she is experiencing a bad infestation of mice.
“Since receiving this complaint we have arranged for the pest contractor to carry out additional visits and a further visit is scheduled for this week.
“We are having an ongoing dialogue with Ms Brown around this issue in order to resolve this matter as soon as possible.”
Ms Brown and her four-year-old daughter are currently staying with her mother in Enfield after she decided she could no longer stay at the flat.
