Four arrested after UK Border Agency raid

Border agency officers arrested four men for illegally working in the UK following a raid on a shop in Tottenham.
Officers from the UK Border Agency visited the Bruce Grove Supermarket, in Bruce Grove, just after 12:30pm on Wednesday.
Three of the people arrested, a Sri Lankan man, 62, a Pakistani man, 35, and a Bangladeshi man, 20, were all found to be in the country illegally having overstayed their visas.
A 34-year-old man from Afghanistan was also arrested after it was found he had entered the country illegally.
All four are currently in detention pending removal from the UK.
The employer of the four men faces a possible £40,000 fine for hiring them unless he is able to provide proof the UK border Agency the correct right-to-work checks were carried out.
