Health group to visit home of English cricket
10:00am Sunday 2nd September 2012 in News By Bruce Thain
A health and wellbeing group for older men in Haringey will be taking a trip to the home of English cricket next week.
The Intrepid Explorers Club uses cultural, sporting and educational events to help promote better health in older men and will be visiting Lords Cricket ground on September 4.
Founder of the group Allan Sealy said: “It’s well known that older men are difficult to persuade of the benefits of looking after themselves.
“We’ve organised dozens of terrific outings like this, during which better health messages get through to our members in an informal and entertaining way.”
The Intrepid Explorers is open to men only and is comprised largely of Afro Caribbean men over the age of 60 and the group is supported by Haringey Council and Age UK Haringey.
