Volunteers have given a community garden a new lease of life after spending a month toiling away.

Member of The Conservation Volunteers Haringey helped clear overgrown vegetation from footpaths and pond viewing platform in Finsbury Park.

The team of volunteers also restored a footpath edge with recycled timber for the garden which is managed by The Finsbury Park Community Garden Project.

Secretary of the project Hugh Hayes said: “The Conservation Volunteers always turn up regularly and add an essential blast of much needed work.

“Clearing the pond, pruning the hedge, weeding and repairing the paths or whatever is needed at the time, we couldn't survive without them.”

Conservation Volunteers Haringey meet every Tuesday and Thursday at different parks and green spaces across the borough.
