Appeal for information over alleged rape in Stroud Green

Police are appealing for information in connection to an alleged rape in Stroud Green.

People are being called to help identify a man detectives would like to speak to in connection with an allegation of rape which occurred in the early hours of Sunday.

Officers were called to Parkland Walk, on the pathway which runs between Tollington Park and Stapleton Hall Road, at 12:30am on Sunday where a 29-year-old woman was allegedly attacked.

The woman was taken to Whittington Hospital and discharged shortly after.

Police say the suspect was known to have been in the area of Victoria Road and Upper Tollington Park before the attack.

He is described as male, about 5ft 5inches tall, of Mediterranean appearance and wearing dark clothing.

He was seen drinking from a Stella Artois lager and smoking a cigarette which police believe to be a Kent Brand which is completely white.

Officers believe the uncommon brand of cigarette may assist in someone identify the suspect.

Anyone with any information about the incident are being urged to get in contact with police.
