The MP for Hornesy and Wood Green has been given a new ministerial role in coalition government after the first reshuffle.

Lib Dem MP Lynne Featherstone was moved from her role in charge of the women and equalities portfolio to a position in the department for International Development (DfID).

The change comes as part of Prime Minister David Cameron’s first reshuffle of ministers, half way through the coalitions Government’s first term.

The portfolio for women and equalities will now over seen by the new Culture Secretary Maria Miller.
