High Road, Tottenham, to partially open this evening after burst water main

A road where emergency work is being carried out to fix a burst water main is due to be opened in one direction later this evening.

Thames Water say they have removed broken section of pipe in High Road, Tottenham, between Seven Sisters Road and St Ann's Road junctions which flooded parts of south Tottenham.

The water company said it is working with TfL to get southbound traffic moving by 7pm this evening and they hope to have a new piece of pipe fitted by 10pm this evening.

A spokesman added that tomorrow they will be rebuilding the road and pavement over the mended pipe with the aim of getting the road open in both directions by the end of Wednesday.

The pipe burst at just before 4am this morning with water flooding the High Road and surrounding streets.
