Dog walkers are being warned about bogus enforcement officers making on the spot fines for false penalties.
Haringey Council is alerting people after a dog walker was wrongly told they needed to pay a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) for having their pet off its lead in Alexandra Palace Park.
But the council says such Dog Control Orders have not yet been finalised in Haringey.
When they are, anyone found in breach of the rules will be handed an FPN detailing the infringement and Information on how and where the penalty can be paid.
However, the council will not issue on the spot fines.
