3:10pm Monday 17th September 2012 in News By Emma Innes
A Wood Green charity has been shortlisted for a national award for diversity.
The JAN Trust, which is based in Bedford Road and aims to improve the lives of minority groups, has been shortlisted for a National Diversity Award for Community Organisations.
The charity, which works to empower minority groups by helping them to overcome barriers to inclusion, is one of three shortlisted candidates for the award.
It was chosen from a field of more than 8,000 entries.
This year The National Diversity Awards, which are run by The Diversity Group, will be held in Manchester’s Midland Hotel on September 21.
The awards aim to recognise and reward positive role models and community organisations for the work they do with their communities.
They recognise all aspects of diversity including age, disability, gender, race and sexuality.
