Half a kilo of heroin was found at an address in Tottenham following a raid by police this morning.

The raid was part of a new operation, called Operation Hawk, targeting drug dealers across London.

Police executed the warrant at the property in Tottenham this morning and a man was arrested in connection with half a kilo of heroin found.

As part of the new offensive more than 1,000 officers raided properties across the capital at 9am with a total of 53 people arrested and 11 cannabis factories closed.

Officers say Operation Hawk is refocusing of their efforts against high-level drug dealers and an increase of activity on drug dealing at a street level.
