Church community group visited by MP
A church drop-in group which supports more than 30 people in the community was visited by an MP yesterday.
The St Michael's drop-in runs every Wednesday at the St Raphael's Centre, at St Michael's Church, in Bounds Green Road.
Liberal Democrat MP for Hornsey and Wood Green Lynne Featherstone visited the weekly meeting to see the work volunteers do at the centre.
She said: “I applaud the kindness and commitment of the residents who run the group.
“It is so important to provide social outlets for our community, and the organisers are doing a really great job.”
The group, which is organised by member of the local community, provides food and also schedules talks for visitors, giving general advice about healthy living, help with addiction and homelessness.
