Fun day celebrates improvements to Muswell Hill woodland space

Woodland tours and scavenger hunt are just some of the ways families celebrated improvements to Coldfall Wood.

The Woodland Fun Day on Sunday celebrated the completion of community led work carried about by the Friends of Coldfall Wood and Muswell Hill Playing fields.

The work was carried out after the group received £50,000 from the Big Lottery Fund to improve access to the wood and combat water pollution.

Families from around the area enjoyed the celebration which included live music, scavenger hunt, a charcoal burning demonstration and best dressed teddy bear competition.

Improvements to the area include the creation of new paths and improvements to old ones and boardwalks to allow people to enjoy the woods.

The day also marked the Muswell Hill Playing Fields officially becoming a Queen Elizabeth II park.
