1:28pm Monday 8th October 2012 in News By Bruce Thain
A group of teenagers have been jailed for the knifepoint robbery of a woman at her flat.
The four teenagers were sentenced to a total of 33 years in young offender’s institute for the robbery of a 22-year-old woman at her flat in Green Lanes, Harringay.
Ashley Allen and Janny Mosy, both 19, from Woodberry Down Estate, and Daniel Watson, 18 of Effingham Road, were sentenced to nine years and 17-year-old Devante Stephen received a sentence of 6 years.
The court heard how the group of four forced their way into the flat after arriving at the property at 1am, on December 8, 2011.
Once inside the flat the group produced knives and an imitation firearm threatening the woman, demanding her hand over money.
She was slapped in the face and the group went though the property for an hour, stealing items including cash, electrical items and her passport.
Later that night police stopped a vehicle with the four men in it smelling of cannabis.
After searching the car officers found knives balaclavas and a quantity of cannabis and items belonging to the victim, including her passport.
All four pleaded not guilty after their arrest. They were found guilty on August 30 at Snaresbrook Crown Court and sentenced last Friday.
