Leisure facilities in Haringey will under new management by the end of this year it has been announced.
Haringey Council announced the new deal which will see Fusion Lifestyle LTD take control of the service from December this year.
The deal includes a 20 year lease over Haringey’s main leisure centres which are, Park Road Leisure Centre, in Hornsey, Tottenham Green, in Philip Lane, and Broadwater Farm Community Centre in Adams Road, Tottenham.
As part of the lease all three centres will get part of £15million investment from Fusion, which will go towards upgrading facilities.
Improvements for Park Road include refurbishment of the pool, improvement works to the Lido, expansion of the gym and complete redevelopment of the pool changing rooms.
Tottenham Green will also have its pool changing rooms redeveloped and will get a new area for young people with dance studio and Broardwater Farm will get a new fitness suite and extra office space.
There will also be a three year deal for the running of the White Hart Lane Community Centre.
Earlier this year the council decided to outsource its leisure services and hope the new deal will save approximately £500,000 a year while providing better services.
Prices for vulnerable groups will continue with the new contract and accredited sports clubs will retain discounted access to the facilities.
