Pair jailed for robbery on train
Men involved in violent robbery on at train near Tottenham Hale Station have been jailed.
Dean Halloran, 35, and Asha Downer, 31, threatened to stab a train passenger before stealing his mobile phone on a train from Harlow Town to Tottenham Hale rail station earlier this year.
The victim, a 29-year-old man, was on the train on Tuesday January 31 with his iPhone in his hand.
Halloran and Downer then approached the man and after attempting to strike up conversation became increasingly aggressive and tried to snatch the phone.
There was then a struggle and the victim was hit in the face while both attackers shouted violent threats.
The man managed to escape and warn the driver of the train, but the two attackers had already left the train at Tottenham Hale Station.
Following an appeal for information the two were arrested and appeared at Wood Green Crown Court on October 9.
Halloran and Downer both pleaded guilty to robbery and were sentenced to 27 months in custody each.
