Man charged with manslaughter of 80-year-old in Wood Green

A man has been charged with manslaughter of an 80-year-old man who was found unconscious in the street.

Oluwaseye Ibukunoluwa Bammeke, 30, of Park Lane, Tottenham, was charged today with the manslaughter and actual bodily harm of Vassos Demetriou.

Mr Demetriou, 80, was found unconscious in Station Road, Wood Green, at just before 10:30pm on Wednesday, February, 22.

He was taken in the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel where he remained in a critical condition. He died a week later on Thursday March 1.

Mr Bammeke has been remanded in custody to appear at Haringey Magistrates Court tomorrow.
