Haringey artists help mental health charity

Artists will be helping raise awareness of mental illness with an exhibition next week.
The three artists have all had experiences with mental illness and their artwork will be on display as part of an exhibition at a gallery in Shoreditch.
The collection of works has been brought together by mental health services provider Circle Support which provides homes and support to up to 300,000 people in the UK.
David James, who lives in Haringey and will have his art work on display, said: “I have always enjoyed the creative arts, whether it be through drawing, DJing or even martial arts.
“Then I noticed during a forum for Circle Support users that there was a lot more creative talent in the group.
"This gave us the idea of developing something that would help us express that in many different ways.
“There’s still so much of the artwork I haven’t seen so I am really looking forward to it all going on display.
"Our hope is that it will give an insight into the talent of people with mental health disabilities in expressing themselves creatively.”
Other artists from the borough whose work will be part of the exhibition include Andrew Lewis and Sandra Bruce.
