Haringey Borough Council not to appeal decision over Belmont school expansion

Haringey Borough Council will not appeal the decision of the school adjudicator which rejected plans to expand a primary school.

The Office of the Schools Adjudicator rejected proposals for the expansion of Belmont School, in Rusper Road, Tottenham.

Haringey council had earmarked both the infant and junior schools on the site for expansion which would start for September next year.

The following the announcement the council said it would not appeal the decision and would now work to identify alternative ways to ensure every five-year-old in the borough can be offered a school place in 2013.
