POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a teenager was stabbed several times on Monday.

Detectives believe the 19-year-old was attacked at around 7.30pm in the park near Willoughby Road, Tottenham, near the fence by the play area.

He was drinking with friends at the time.

The suspect is believed to have driven off in a silver Audi parked in Willougby Road.

The victim tried to make his way out of the park, assisted by a friend, but collapsed on the path. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable but serious condition.

Officers are urging people they think were in the area at the time, but left before police arrived, to come forward.

Detective Constable Julie Russell said: “We know that a number of people that had been with the victim left before talking to police, and I appeal to those individuals in particular to contact us.

“The park was exceptionally busy at the time of the incident. Your information could help us identify who was responsible for the assault.”

The suspect is described as Mediterranean man aged between 18-28.

Anyone with information is asked to call DC Russell of Haringey CID on 020 8345 0712 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
