With just one month to go before the General Election, Hertsmere candidates are battling it out to become the constituency's next MP.
POLL - VOTE BELOW
Hertsmere is typically a Tory stronghold, and James Clappison won the last election with a comfortable majority of around 18,000, winning 26,476 votes. Labour’s Sam Russell lagged well behind with 8,871 votes.
Mr Clappison announced his retirement last year after almost 23 years in power.
Standing for the Conservatives is Oliver Dowden, who previously worked as Prime Minister David Cameron’s deputy chief of staff.
Richard Butler is Labour’s candidate, who at 29 is one of the nation’s youngest parliamentary candidates.
The Liberal Democrats are fielding Sophie Bowler and Peter Goldsmith is standing for the Green Party.
Frank Ward, who left the Labour party after 25 years, is standing for UKIP.
During the 2010 elections, candidates for the British National Party fielded a candidate but it is not known whether they are standing again.
