AFTER years of disrepair a newly restored Hornsey Central war memorial chapel will host a special Remembrance service this Saturday.
The chapel, on the site of the former Hornsey Central Hospital, in Park Road, has been closed to the public for the past two years while the new neighbourhood health centre was constructed.
And for the first time since 2006 it will be in a position to host a Remembrance Service to honour soldiers who give their lives to serve their country.
The memorial service will be led by Reverand Geoffrey Seabrook, of Hornsey Parish Church, Cranley Gardens.
In 2001, English Heritage listed the Memorial Chapel as a Grade II building following the closure of Hornsey Central Hospital to help protect the site.
The walls of the oak-panelled chapel list the names of the 1,371 soldiers who were killed during the First World War.
