A MISCONDUCT hearing into a doctor who failed to spot the signs of Baby P's abuse has been adjourned until Monday.
The probe into Dr Sabah Al-Zayyat was due to start in private at the General Medical Council (GMC) yesterday but was put back while more medical evidence is gathered.
Dr Al-Zayyat treated 17-month-old Peter Connelly at St Ann's Hospital, in Tottenham, in August, 2007, two days before his death at the hands of his abusive mother, step father and his step father's brother.
The GMC hearing had been due to start at the beginning of this week but Dr Al-Zayyat fled the country and a report said there was a very real possibility she would commit suicide.
Tracy Connelly, 28, and her partner Steven Barker, 33, were jailed indefinitely for the public protection and told to serve a minimum of five and 12 years.
Barker's brother Jason Owen, 38, was jailed for three years.
