A WOMAN was sexually assaulted and then robbed as she walked in Harringay over the weekend.

The victim, in her 30s, was grabbed from behind between 4.40am and 5.30am on Saturday, November 21, in Pemberton Road.

Her attacker then stole her bag, cash and mobile phone before walking off in the direction of Wightman Road.

He is described as black, in his mid-20s, of average build, and approximately five feet and six inches tall.

Detective Constable Rob Dawson, of Haringey police's Saphhire Unit, said: "Although this assault took place in the early hours of the morning, someone may have seen or heard something that could prove invaluable to our investigation.

"We are doing everything that we can to identify the person responsible."
