A 96-bedroom hotel will replace an empty office block in Tottenham Hale as part of plans to “kick start” the regeneration of the area.

Proposals to build a new Premier Inn hotel at the site of Image House, in Station Road, were given the green light by Haringey Borough Council’s planning committee last night.

The nine-storey development is expected to create 35 jobs and will include a 146sq m restaurant/bar, three disabled car parking spaces and six cycle spaces.

According to the council, this scheme will be the first major strategic development in Tottenham Hale area since the Hale Village.

Planning officers claim the scheme is likely to encourage further development and could “kick start” the area’s regeneration.

The design of the hotel is considered to be of a “high quality” and incorporated comments from Haringey council’s officers and its design team.
