Waste, recycling, food and garden waste collections will take place as normal, despite the upcoming Easter weekend.

Haringey Borough Council's contractor Veolia will stick to its usual schedule throughout the Easter bank holidays on Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21.

But both Haringey’s free reuse and recycling centres in Hornsey and Tottenham will be shut on Good Friday.

Residents are also being encouraged to recycle as much of their Easter egg packaging as possible, including clean foil, cardboard boxes and plastic tubs and trays.

Bulky items which are recyclable or reusable can be also be collected free of charge through Veolia – but non-recyclable items will be charged for.

Many of the bulky items are donated to ReStore Community Projects who collect unwanted furniture, cookers and fridges to be sold on.

ReStore use a two-tiered pricing structure to give residents with evidence of being on low income or benefits a lower price.
