Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust says the recent planning decision allowing the Spurs’ stadium to be built is the “correct” one.

Haringey Council has been granted permission to issue a Compulsory Purchase Order for Archway Sheet Metals by the Department of Communities and Local Government.

Spurs could not begin work on the new stadium until the CPO had been granted.

Ellie Kershaw, THST board member, said: “We’re very pleased, we’re glad that having taken the time it did the correct decision has been reached. We look forward to working with the fans and the club.

“The club has moved a large number of businesses amicably and they’re happy.

“It’s obviously unfortunate for Archway, but I’m sure the compulsory purchase order will give them an amount that’s reasonable.”

Archway Sheet Metals now faces being relocated against its will by the council.

A spokesman for Haringey Council said it would read through the paperwork relating to the decision before taking any action.
