An MP says the recent decision allowing Spurs to begin work on their new stadium is "a relief".
Haringey Council was recently granted permission to issue a Compulsory Purchase Order to Archway Sheet Metals by Eric Pickles, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.
Tottenham MP David Lammy said the length of time it took the government to reach a decision on the matter was "unfair".
He said: “After over 18 months of waiting, it is a relief that Eric Pickles has finally reached a decision on this matter.
"It was unfair that this decision, which should have taken 11 weeks and affects the lives of so many of my constituents, has been so drawn out, and in many cases it left local residents and businesses owners confused and uninformed of what the future holds for the local area.”
