A project has been launched to help long term unemployed people gain skills.
Finsbury Park Art Club has received a grant of £28,261 from People’s Health Trust through Active Communities, a funding programme which invests in groups to improve their communities.
The new project will last for two years, and aims to deliver up to three sessions a week involving cooking, music projects and practical life skills. The money was raised by HealthPromote CIC, through The Health Lottery.
John Hume, Chief Executive of People’s Health Trust, said: “We are delighted to be investing in these local organisations with great ideas to make their communities even better places to grow, live, work and age.”
