A school has gone from being in ‘special measures’ to being rated ‘outstanding’ in record time.

Crowland Primary School in south Tottenham was recently praised by Ofsted after its pupils made rapid progess following a bad inspection in 2012.

Melisha Trotman, the school’s headteacher, said she was “delighted” the children and staff were getting the recognition they deserve.

She added: “It is great to see the many positive comments about the children in terms of both behaviour and learning.

“I would like to thank the committed staff and governors, who are relentless in their pursuit for excellence for every child in the school.”

Councillor Ann Waters, cabinet member for children and families, praised the “hard work and dedication” of staff, governors and parents.
