The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for Greater London on Friday morning as the so-called ‘weatherbomb’ approaches.

Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern parts of England and Wales are currently experiencing high winds and heavy rain caused by a storm forming in the north Atlantic.

The bad weather is expected to move south, with a second storm expected in London on Friday.

Temperatures in north London are predicted to remain at between 4C and 6C for most of Wednesday, with clear skies and winds of around 15mph from the west making it feel closer to 2C.

Thursday will be cloudier but warmer, with winds increasing towards 20mph, and heavy rain from around 4pm.

The worst weather will arrive on Friday, with winds of up to 25mph from the south west and heavy rain between midnight and 6am.

Wind speed will drop throughout the day, but temperatures will drop towards freezing as the day goes on. Saturday is expected to be bright and calm, but cold.

No snow is currently expected other than on hills and mountains in the north of the UK.
