A gang of five men were jailed for a total of 26 years today for a smash grab raid at a fashion shop.

David and Alan Kelly, of Moray Road, Finsbury Park, were part of a gang that used two cars and three scooters to smash through the door of Louis Vuitton in Sloane Street, Kensington, in the early hours of June 26, 2014.

They made off with designer handbags, belts and purses worth more than £70,000 but were arrested by the Met’s Flying Squad in Islington shortly afterwards.

David Kelly, 30, was sentenced to seven years while his brother Alan Kelly, 21, received three years and six months.

Kavosh Jalali, 24, from Crescent Way, Finchley, was sentenced to four years with Michael Lewis, 28, of Upminster Road South, Rainham and Daryl Salisbury, 25, of Kelvin Road, Drayton park both receiving a sentence of six years each.

DCI Steve Ellen from the Met's Flying Squad said: "This audacious theft was shocking to both staff at the store and passing motorists. Thanks to the Flying Squad the gang were quickly identified and arrested and an amount of goods recovered."
