A south Tottenham schoolboy won a public speaking award.
Yaade Jobe, a pupil at Gladesmore Community school, was declared the winner of Haringey regional final of the Jack Petchey Speak Out challenge on Tuesday evening at Heartlands High School in Wood Green.
Yaade, 15, impressed the judges with his winning speech Middle Child, beating competition from 13 other speakers from schools across Haringey.
Yaade said: “I am shocked and really happy. So proud of this event and I am truly grateful.”
The Speak Out challenge is a national public speaking competition in which more than 18,000 year 10 students from around London take part.
