Banners, whistles and flags are expected to fill the streets as people from across the borough march to protest against budget cuts.

The march has been organised by Unison to protest against Haringey Borough Council plans to shave £70m of spending over the next three years which are up for approval tonight.

Budget proposals include £24m cuts to funding for adult social care for people with conditions such as autism and dementia as well as controversial redevelopment plans for areas of Tottenham.

The march is due to assemble at Ducketts Common at 5.30pm and continue up High Road, Wood Green all the way to Haringey Civic Centre where the full council meeting is due to take place at 7.30pm.
